Landmark Medical Center will be holding its annual prostate cancer screening clinic on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at the outpatient oncology clinic at Landmark Medical Center's Woonsocket Unit, 115 Cass Avenue, Suite 2.
The clinic includes a consultation with a physician and two exams a prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood test and a digital rectal examination. The exams each take about one minute to perform. Participating physicians include Ahmed Nadeem, M.D. from the Northern Rhode Island Hematology/Oncology Program, Timothy Shafman, M.D. from the Southern New England Regional Cancer Center, as well as several other Landmark-affiliated oncologists or urologists.
There is no cost to participate in the clinic, but space is limited. To register, please call (401) 769-4100, Ext. 2951 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the following days: Sept. 11, Sept. 12, or Sept. 15-19.
Note: The clinic is intended for men who are not currently under the care of a urologist and who have not had a PSA test in the past 12 months.
