After-School Volunteer Program
Landmark Medical Center is accepting applications for its After-School Volunteer Program, which is open to students ages 14 or older who are friendly, compassionate, and dependable. Students are placed based on interests, skills, and talents. Schedules vary, but a time commitment of two to four hours per week for a minimum of 45 total hours of service is required. Limited weekend positions are also available. Orientation and training are provided.
Openings include: Dietary Assistants (help in passing out patient trays and performing clerical tasks in diet office); Dispatch Assistants (deliver and sort supplies, trays, and medical supplies); Nursing Unit Assistants (light clerical and patient-support duties); Patient Registration Assistants (greet and escort patients to testing or deliver patient charts); Radiology Assistants (clerical tasks and assisting in transporting of patients to and from testing); and Clerical Assistants in various departments, including Medical Records, Finance and others.
Students 18 and older can apply to be Emergency Department Assistants. Tasks include: escorting and transporting patients, making up clean stretchers, stocking rooms, running errands and other duties. The position is appropriate for pre-med or nursing students, or those interested in similar healthcare careers.
Adult Program Openings
Landmark is also accepting applications for adult volunteers. Schedules vary, but a time commitment of two to four hours per week for 45 total hours, or three months, is requested. Orientation and training are provided.
Patient Hospitality Cart Volunteers Deliver morning beverages to patients, their families and visitors with our refreshment cart. Visit patients at bedside and visitors in waiting areas. Training is provided. 2 hour shifts are available mid-mornings. Weekdays and weekends.
Clerical Assistants Volunteers assist staff in filing, photocopying, mailing, answering the telephone, and data entry. Help is needed in Finance, Medical Records, Diagnostic Services, Nuclear Medicine and other offices. Weekdays.
